We wanted a double sided gas fireplace installed in our townhouse to replace an existing double sided wood burning unit. We had discussions with two other contractors first however we were not happy them. One of them wanted to close off one side of the fireplace and instal an electric fireplace in front of it. Ryan knew what we wanted and how it had to be done properly to meet codes. He came with his crew on November 9, 2013, removed the wood burning unit and installed a new gas burning unit in one day. Ryan installed a new gas furnace in my home. After living with the new furnace for nearly a year, I am happy to report it’s a success on all fronts. It responds quickly, heating the space in no time. We’re more comfortable. And, it uses much less gas than the gas furnace it replaced – 20% less year over year. Living on the Gulf Islands can be quite difficult at times, such as when one wants to replace a fireplace insert. After contacting a number of suppliers in greater Victoria and Vancouver none were very interested when they checked the ferry schedules.

Flametech did a great job installing our Summit Fireplace Insert. They were prompt, on budget, did excellent work and cleaned up after themselves. In and out in less that a day. We have been able to heat the entire house (over 3,000 sq. ft.) with this unit without any other heat sources. Well done, Ryan.
